Ahtna ’24

This summer history is being made…

Brooklyn to Alaska’s BIPOC river guides will be leading Native Alaskan youth on an 80-mile wilderness rafting trip on June 26th.

BK2AK’s Graduate to Guide participants have been training and practicing rafting and wilderness survival skills for four years. They are now prepared to lead a group of Alaskan Native (Ahtna) youth on an adventure of a lifetime. The BIPOC Brooklynites are very excited to teach these Ahtna youngsters what they have learned about wilderness guiding.

The Ahtna youth look forward to sharing with the Brooklyn guides about local customs and culture. This legendary trip will be an incredible cultural exchange and has stirred real excitement in the Ahtna community. We can’t wait to post photos here from this epic trip.
